Socia Media in Turkey: Instacensored

This news item—a Turkish ex beauty queen, Merve Büyüksaraç, posting a satirical poem about Erdogan on her Instagram account and then being summoned to testify in front of the prosecutor for insulting the President—combines two of Erdogan's favorite instructional topics, social media and women. And the twofold lesson to be learnt here (according to Erdogan) is that (a) social media (and the internet at large) should be shunned if you want to avoid trouble, especially by women who (b) should instead be tending to their household chores.

UPDATE: As expected, the court convicted the Merve to a suspended sentence of 14-months in jail.
