Combine that with three decades of authoritarian rule, a country in economic ruins and encountering unexpected difficulties in getting your birthday enshrined as a national holiday, and you get Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe's nonagenarian autocrat, making a fuss about his 92nd birthday bash. Making things worse, the grandiose celebrations of previous years means that the bar has been set real high.
