Sino-Russian relations: Good sportsmanship
China's parade commemorating its WW2 victory over Japan, staged today in Beijing, was quite a demonstration of military might both for its size and the display of new, never unveiled before armaments. Although Western leaders declined the invitation to attend, others, like Russian president Vladimir Putin, who are more appreciative of such military displays, were more than happy to oblige. Considering that there was a similar grandiose parade in Moscow in May, there might have been some friendly rivalry between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
