Putin - Erdoğan: What's a little schadenfreude among friends?

Still reeling from his party’s failure to win a majority in Turkey’s recent election, dashing his hopes of absolute presidential rule through constitutional amendments, Turkey’s president Tayyip Erdogan met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the European Olympic Games opening ceremony in Baku. Erdogan’s shame and disappointment must have been confounded by both Putin's and their host, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's, stellar performance every time they are up for re-election.
