Spain: Beware of Geeks bearing box-sets

According to Pablo Iglesias, rising star of the Spanish anti-austerity left and head of Podemos, the left-wing party polling ahead of the traditional parties, the HBO series Game of Thrones "offers key points to understanding the political crisis in Spain". He said so as much when he cheekily gifted the DVD box-set to King Felipe VI when they met in Brussels during the King's first visit to the European parliament. Iglesias has in fact likened the show's character of Khaleesi, the blonde ethereal beauty, to his Party as the only "hope that things can change" in Spain. Presumably this is also why he sports long wavy hair and flowy untucked shirts.
