Kim Jong-un: Never bite off more than you can chew
It is a well known fact that Kim Jong-un loves visiting his country's commercial facilities, especially the ones that involve food like this recent one to the "Kumkop General Foodstuff Factory for Sports Persons". At the facility Kim stressed the imperative for "a dynamic drive for developing and producing foodstuff including chewing gum which is badly needed by the Sportspersons and suited to the constitution of the Koreans". Typically a single chewing gum is a daily meal for an average family of four. Plus, passing the gum between members cultivates stronger family ties and produces engaging conversation.
The visit coincided with his message to North Korean athletes encouraging them to join as many international sports events as possible in order to "exalt the dignity and honor of the nation". In a typical carrots & sticks strategy, it was announced that medal winners will receive extra food vouchers and losers will be shut in labor camps.
