Tony Abbott: One Knight Stand

Is there something like a knighthood too many? According to Aussie PM Tony Abbott, never. He is more than pleased to make 93 year old Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elisabeth's hubby, a knight of Australia. Not everyone shared though Tony's enthusiasm for bestowing such an honor, especially on Australia Day. Both the opposition and most of his party found his decision absurd. Though it shouldn't have been that much of a surprise considering that Tony himself revived the knight and damehood honors just a year ago after 20 years of having been discontinued. Tony rejected any criticism of anachronism saying that knights and dames are a hell of a lot better role models than the Kardashians.
