Erdogan: A Class of his own

As you know, Turkish PM-cum-President-cum-Leader4ever Erdogan is not one to mince his words or use moderation in his statements. On the contrary, his speech style can be described as bombastic grandstanding, bereft of nuance and subtext and peppered with dramatic terminology ("alliance of evil"), lofty exhortations ("We'll eradicate Twitter") and bizarre generalizations (“Whoever drinks alcohol is an alcoholic”). In similar vein, his latest speech this past Friday warned of an imminent "clash of civilizations" spearheaded by blasphemous publications like Charlie Hebdo which is part of the West's underlying campaign against Islam.
