Dick Cheney: Literary Criticism
Dick Cheney had some harsh words to say about the Congregational report on CIA's enhanced interrogation techniques. As he so eloquently and succinctly summarized his criticism, it was "full of crap". Going into more detail, he said it was poorly written, exhaustingly verbose and literarily stale with too many unnecessary flourishes & poor character development (basically worse than a Dan Brown novel). He also thought that it was very uninspiring: no new torture techniques (nothing we haven't already seen many times before in movies), no clever Gone-Girl-type plot twists and no pictures. And more damning of all, the report was quite bland and boring, couldn't get through the first chapter without at least two breaks to shoot something. No good other than reading it to his grandkids at night to get them to sleep. Or as a door-stopper.
