After a short stop in Syria to celebrate Russia's successful bombing campaign-cum-promotional stunt for re-election and pat Syrian-stooge Assad on the back for his endurance in the face of his being banned from Netflix and Apple Music, Russian overlord Vladimir Putin visited Turkish Sultan-wannabe Tayyip Recep Erdogan in his Ankara digs to discuss regional issues such as Trump's incendiary decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Both strong-willed, autocratic megalomaniacs, Putin and Erdogan have many things in common like a deep desire to turn back the clocks to a time when Czars and Sultans didn't have to bother with keeping democratic appearances and where jailing the opposition would have been the second-best option for dealing with dissent.
