Obama in Kenya: Out of Africa
You have to hand it to Obama for rebutting the Kenyan president's, Uhuru Kenyatta, homophobic stance and making a call for tolerance and equal rights in his first visit to Kenya. Not that Kenyatta (a seasoned politician, son of Kenya's first president Jumo Kenyatta, with a dropped ICC indictment on his bio), flinched, on the contrary he courteously replied that although the two countries have a lot on common gay rights is basically a first world problem Kenyan people are not concerned with. Presumably they have much more urgent, day-to-day issues to tackle like ensuring the adequacy of shaded parking spots in the country’s popular malls.
