India: Step back in time

India's Goa state's Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs has taken it upon himself to cure the LGBT local youth of its "abnormality", explaining that if alcoholics can do it so can the gays. You'd expect that, what with the internet and the globalization of information, people, and especially those in power, would be more up to date with scientific orthodoxy and practices. Then again bigotry and political calculations always trump logic and common sense.
